We celebrated my husband's 30th birthday in Cape Town with a 3-hour Harley tour from Makani, and it was truly life-changing. The bikes themselves are gorgeous - beautifully maintained, looked brand new, and so powerful yet incredibly stable. Even as a passenger, the ride was smooth and comfortable the whole way. Dave and Papa Bear were our guides, and they made the whole experience. Excellent, experienced riders who clearly know these roads inside out, and genuinely funny too - they kept checking in to make sure we were comfortable and having the best time. They picked us up and dropped us right at our accommodation, no hassle at all. We rode through Camps Bay, Seal Island, Chapman's Peak, and up Signal Hill - seeing Cape Town with a full 360° view like that is on a completely different level to seeing it from a car or bus window. The highlight was Dave surprising us with champagne at Signal Hill to toast the milestone birthday - such a thoughtful touch. Dave and Papa Bear are two of the most awesome people we've met, and we can't wait to ride with them again! If you're visiting Cape Town, this is hands down the best way to explore it. Nothing else compares!

What a great company! I was in the Western Cape for a holiday and Makani Motorcycle Rental was recommended - great result. I was able to try a few different bikes around the block to check them out resulting in me renting a HD Fat Bob (an older 103ci modeI with a few battle scars but ideal for my trip). I had the bike for a couple of days and had a blast covering a chunk of the Western Cape. Renting was super easy, good value, decent kit (Helmet, Jacket and Gloves) provided as part of the rental and the bike performed really well. Dave is a super nice guy who made the whole rental experience a pleasure. He gave me lots of ideas for routes which included the Bain’s Kloof and Du Toitskloof passes which if you’ve not ridden them - do it, they are fabulous. Overall, if you’re thinking of renting a Harley Davidson in the Cape Town area, give Dave a call, you won’t be disappointed.
